Easy English

 Life Without Barriers


In response to client feedback, national disability support service provider Life without Barriers has been working with Clear Words to extend the range of their key materials that are available in Easy English. 


So far Clear Words have produced Easy English versions of their NDIS Service Agreement and service brochures including: Shared and Supported Living; Health, Wellbeing and Therapy; Support Coordination; Lifestyle Supports.




 Transport Accident Commission (TAC)


The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) provides ongoing support to thousands of Victorians involved in a transport accidents.  Many TAC clients sustain a major injuries that affect their ability to read and concentrate, for example an Acquired Brain Injury. 


In an effort to ensure these clients have access to important information, the TAC has begun providing key service information in Easy English.  Clear Words is working with the TAC to create a number of Easy English information sheets.



Logan City Council


Following a request from Logan Council in Queensland, we were asked to produce an Easy English version of their 'How to prepare for a natural disaster' tip sheet.  This was distributed as a flyer and poster.  Community response to the tip sheet was so positive that members of the business community, many of whom are from CALD backgrounds, then requested an Easy English version of the business guidelines be made available too. 


Clear Words has also worked with several councils on Easy English versions of their Disability Action Plans, this includes Nillumbik, Moreland and Parramatta City Councils.

Plain English



NSW disability service provider Sunnyfield asked Clear Words to rewrite their Customer Complaints and Feedback brochure in plain English so it is easier to understand. 

General Communications

Clear Words worked with aged care provider Uniting AgeWell and disability service provider Ability Options to write content for their Annual Reports. 


For Uniting AgeWell, we came up with an overall theme for the report, liaised with service and departmental managers on service reports, and wrote staff and customer case studies.   


For Ability Options, we wrote the CEO and Chair's Report, service area reports and edited previously    drafted stories for a consistent style and tone.
